About North Olmsted
The land that became North Olmsted was originally part of the Connecticut Reserve in the Northwest Territory. In 1805, Aaron Olmsted, a wealthy sea captain, completed purchase of a vast tract of land comprising present-day North Olmsted, Olmsted Falls and Olmsted Township from the Connecticut Land Company. Olmsted died one year later in 1806. In 1815, his son David Johnson became North Olmsted’s first settler.

Rich History
What is now North Park Estates used to be part of the rich agricultural history of North Olmsted. In its early days, North Olmsted was primarily a farming community. In the 1960’s the city exploded from a sleepy town into one of the fastest developing areas in the country. As part of that development, many former farms were turned into housing subdivisions.
North Park Estates was one such converted farm. Part of a truck-farming operation, most of our homes are in former tomato, pepper, or corn fields! The only hint of the past is a glimpse of the original lane from Porter Road into the fields, which can still be recognized by a line of trees on Andorra Drive.
NPEHOA
Northpark Estates does have a homeowners association, but we're very low-key.
